Ice Age ante portas ....

If you believe it or not, last week, when I returned from my holiday trip, I found a 'real' mammoth in front of our institute. Actually I was entering the office of OSOTIS and taking a look outside of the window and there was....... a mammoth!
At the Goethe-Galerie (next to Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena at Ernst-Abbe-Platz) there is an exhibition about 'Giants of the Ice Age'. Actually, the mammoth should have been inside the Goethe-Galerie.....but it was simply too big (4,50 m = 15 feet and 1.5 tons) to get it there. Thus, it has been placed outside and is scaring pedestrians and cyclists ... and of course it is big fun for all children.
